Clairaudience is a form of clairvoyance whereby a person acquires information by paranormal auditory means. It is essentially the ability to hear things in a paranormal manner. The name is derived from the French words “clair”, meaning clear and “audience” meaning hearing. It is often grouped with Clairvoyance (paranormal seeing) and clairsentience (paranormal feeling) as a type of psychic ability.
Clairaudience may not refer to an actual perception of sound, but can instead indicate impressions of the “inner mental ear” similar to the way in which people think words but do not necessarily say them out loud. The term can also refer to the perception of actual sounds including voices, tones, or noises which are not detected by other human beings or by any sound recording equipment.
People who have clairaudient abilities might claim that they can hear the voices or thoughts of people who are now deceased. They are often able to gather information that is not available through any other natural method and in these cases, clairaudient readers may choose to use their abilities to help people to get in contact with loved ones who have recently died. Clairaudience should always be distinguished from the voices that are sometimes heard by the mentally ill. However, some people who experience overactive Clair auditory sounds may choose to take medication to control the ability, because the noises they perceive can be disturbing to them.
Many Buddhists and Hindi texts claim extensive those who practice extensive meditation technique or have high levels of self-discipline are able to activate their “third ear”, and tap into their natural clairaudient abilities. Many people who practice meditation techniques describe reaching a higher level of consciousness, whereby they are able to experience a full range of “paranormal” senses. It is also believed that people who are particularly skilled will be able to hear the “music of the spheres”, which is the normally inaudible sound that is made by celestial bodies, such as the sun, moon and planets.
Many clairaudient readers report that each Clair auditory experience is preceded by a slight feeling of pressure on the crown of the head, in an area sometimes known as the “crown chakra”. However, not all clairaudient readers experience this, with others feeling no sensation at all, or experiencing other unique ticks or sensations which are personal to them. Whilst some clairaudient readers have been able to harness their abilities and control when and where they have experiences, others have no control over what they hear or when. In these cases, it may be a good thing for clairaudient readers to have a unique tick that alerts them to the fact that they are about to have a Clair auditory experience, and therefore they can make any necessary preparations.
